What are 3 things you DISLIKE about Hot English magazine? It’s repetitive.   Some of the articles are boring.   The font size is too small sometimes.   The listenings are too difficult.   The articles are too short.   The articles are too long.   There aren’t enough pages.   It’s too easy.   It’s too difficult.   There aren’t enough listenings.   The listenings are too long.  There’s too much content.   There isn’t enough content.   The exercises aren’t interesting for me.   The Pre-Intermediate listenings are too difficult.   There should be more material in the Pre-intermediate section.   The Intermediate listenings are too fast.   The Advanced section is too easy.   There’s nothing for proficiency students.

What do you think of the CD? It’s too long.   It’s too short.   It’s the right length.   I’d like to have more recordings of the articles.   I like the voices / accents.   I don’t like the voices / accents.   They speaking too quickly.  They speak too slowly.   Useful language 

What type of recordings do you like? Slow recordings so I can understand every word.   Natural English that’s more difficult to understand.   Spontaneous chat so I can try to understand real English.   Funny dialogues so I can learn with a laugh.   Ones with British English accents.   Ones with American English accents.   Ones with other English accents (New Zealand, Canada, etc.)   Ones with foreign English accents (French English, Japanese English, etc.)  A variety of accents.

What do you think of the subscription price?  Reasonable – it’s good value for money.    It’s a little expensive.    It’s quite cheap.  

How does Hot English help you learn English? It’s easy to understand.   I can listen and repeat.   It’s full of useful language.   The glossaries help me learn lots of words and expressions.   The topics are interesting and motivating.   I absorb language by listening to the CD / MP3s.

Debates  Interviews  Casual chats between two friends.   Natural spontaneous, non-scripted English.   Scripted dialogues based on a point of language.   Comedy sketches based on a language point.   Language learning drills  Teachers talking to the camera explaining a language point.   Pronunciation practise with a teacher.

How could we improve Hot English magazine? Include an exercise pack with the magazine.   Include more videos related to topics / articles in the magazine.   Include more audio recordings.   Increase the number of pages.   Add more articles on practical English.   Have more lower-level material.   Have more higher-level material.   Include some material for young learners (teens / kids).
