Jason is from Des Moines, Iowa. Currently, he has been an English teacher in the US and France, and is now a content contributor to Hot English magazine. Before moving to Madrid, Jason studied Marketing, Sales and Management and worked in an international insurance company. All throughout his career he has enjoyed helping people, either in the role of teaching, corporate training or on a personal level. He loves travelling, creating art, being in nature, and Mediterranean culture and food.
In the future, he intends to continue his career as a teacher, working on new art and writing projects, and exploring nature and the world.
Sam Gordon (regular contributor)After a misspent youth backpacking around most of the globe, Sam has now settled down into a life of misspent adulthood. He has worked as a professional actor and although he never quite made the big time – a cameo in English soap Holby City was as far as it got – he does at least have some memorable showbiz stories to tell. A subsequent stint in international development gave him a chance to go to Africa to set up an organisation that has projects still running in Kenya and Uganda. He currently finds himself in Madrid writing for Hot English and wrestling with the complexities of Spanish grammar on a daily basis. He has Holly, Raymond and Francis for company – the latter two being cats.
Emma Weinbren (regular contributor)Born in London, Emma now lives in Warwickshire. She studied languages at university and spent a year travelling around Germany, France and Spain before graduating. Following this, she moved back to Spain for a year to teach English in a secondary school. She’s currently pursuing a career in journalism, and has just completed a postgraduate qualification in this field. Her work has been published in entertainment, travel and fashion magazines in both Spain and the UK.
